Withdrawal

You will go through withdrawal usually with medical assistance depending on the type of drug you are addicted to. Each person is different when it comes to withdrawal but most teen centers attempt to cover the basics when it comes to withdrawal.

There are places where you can be if you wish to be left alone and there are group spaces where you can interact with others while you are in withdrawal.

Activities

The activities offered depends on the type of treatment center. Each center will have its own amenities. Some treatment centers are rural while others offer more urban activities. Typical activities offered are:

• Horseback riding
• Other activities

The activities at teen centers tend to be more teen oriented. They work on teen problems such as trust building, peer relationships, and social skills. Many of the adult treatment centers focus on more adult concerns. It makes sense that teen activities are more centered on teen concerns rather than those of adults. Most people who attend a good teen treatment center do not return to drug use once they get older.
